String of Paper Cranes

Months ago I folded hundreds of paper cranes for a fundraiser related to the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, but for various complicated reasons I was never able to submit them to the charity that had organized the event. So until last week they were sitting in bags in my room just taking up space, because I couldn't bring myself to just get rid of them.

Finally last week I posted an ad for the cranes on the free section of craigslist, and got almost 50 emails in under an hour! I guess free paper cranes are in demand? Since I could choose who got the cranes they ended up going to a very nice older gentleman whose friend was doing a theater piece at USC about the tsunami, so I'm happy they will be used. I'm invited, and I'll post pictures if I end up going. I held onto one crane of each color though, and today finished my mini-rainbow-senbazuru of 13 cranes.

The bottom stopper is a Danish Krone given to me by a friend from Denmark, and there is a glass bead separating each crane.
