Random Trail Journal Excerpt

How beautiful and miraculous to be back in the wild! Coming back to the woods really helps me keep my life and reality in perspective. I have come to realize that it is vital to keep in mind the big picture: Don't walk or live too fast. Remember to live one day at a time. It's okay to not have a plan all the time. Don't take yourself or your work too seriously. Have fun, never grow up, and always make time to go back to the real world; the wilderness of course, which is more real than any 'real world' of pressure, of striving to get ahead in the rat race. Go climb a mountain, and get back in touch with reality.
